New Beat Farm is a MOFGA Certified organic farm growing vegetable, cut flowers and grass-fed lamb in the heart of a vibrant agricultural community in central Maine.
We farm because it is the best way for us to live by our ideals and give back. Our farming reflects our interest in building healthy self-sustaining communities. We sell our food at two farmers markets in Belfast, ME, provide produce and flowers for restaurants and wholesale accounts and are excited to be among the founding members of the Daybreak Growers Alliance.
We are a horse-powered farm, working with our Belgian and Percheron Draft horses to cultivate our fields and make hay for our expanding flock of sheep. Taking the best of the old ways and adapting to new systems we are able to minimize our use of fossil fuels, tread more lightly on the soil and cultivate a certain level of resilience and self-sufficiency on our farm.
